Floor area: 1,100sqft

As the wife is passionate about baking and runs an online baking business, her home kitchen doubles up as her workspace. The design centrepiece is an island with a marble countertop that seamlessly connects to a cement screeded dining table. Ample storage along the back wall, coupled with two fridges and two ovens, ensures convenience for bulk baking and easy access to essentials.

This home reflects the homeowners’ personalities, taste and penchant for the finer things in life. As they have just begun parenthood, they have opted to do without a television in the living room to enjoy quality family time together with their child. A cosy leather sofa elevates the raw yet refined aesthetic.

Addressing an awkward layout where the master bedroom faces the working island and dining zone, the designers have concealed the bedroom door within the kitchen cabinetry. The vibrant teal coloured carpentry adds a lively touch to the neutral tones, while a narrow shelving area provides space for recipe books and plants.

Precision space-planning was crucial to ensuring a seamless fit for the long island and additional equipment while preserving ample circulation and seating space. The introduction of glass panels has transformed what was once a dimly lit unit, significantly brightening the space and enhancing the overall layout.
